Ancienne Ambience Colonia Seven VII: Pink Grapefruit, Blood Orange & Musk EDP 100ml.

My first post in a long time as I have been very under the weather. Anyhoo onwards and upwards!!

Ancienne Ambience was created by Adriana Carlucci with just 6 candles and a small jewellery collection, how amazing is that?Antonia’s family have dealt in ancient art/antiquities for generations and she created her products to compliment the offerings of the gallery. She created luxury goods with an ancient theme and oh boy has she done it very well.

COLOGONE EDP – Uplifting, zesty, cooling: They feature a whoosh of notes like lemon, bergamot, orange, grapefruit, mandarin. (These notes are also slightly randomly referred to as being ‘hesperidic’ – after the Hesperides, the nymphs from Greek mythology!) Fresh fragrances smell clean, and usually come in the eau de toilette and Cologne versions.

This stunning fragrance from Ancienne Ambience has been keeping me fresh & uplifted all summer. I use it on a daily basis because it is that morning burst of the grapefruit effervescence that helps wake you up and get your mind and body going.

Then the lovely warming blood orange comes through as it starts to soften with the hint of must that keeps this fragrance making you feel fresh all day. Some citrus fragrances fade very fast. I found this to have legs and staying power.

When settled this smells of a beautiful sweet lemon, warm blood orange and a hint of musk, absolutely beautiful and something you keep smelling. I had myself spritzed from head to toe in this fragrance and it made me feel fabulously fresh all day.

It would also be a wonderful fragrance to take on holiday as it is beautiful day or night and really does give you that air of confidence that you are beautifully scented from head to toe!

I am a bit biased when it comes to Ancienne Ambience as I have been in love with it for years. Their soaps are so good too. I love the Almond milk & Rose. The Rose Pure Floral Water which I keep in the fridge, is a natural hydrolat, skin loves it .. Wonderful for a pure tropical moment or just out of the shower on a hot day all over!

The Damask Rose Hand & Bodywash is divine too, it leaves your hands beautifully & lightly scented. Paraben, sls & cruelty free the products are non drying and gentle on skin. It is absolutely beautiful. I would like to try the other hand and body washes but I cannot get past this one, I am on my third!

They are such a beautiful brand, everything smells amazing including your parcel from them, they just make you feel really special and you know you are getting that quality, you can feel and sense it …..

Alyson Hogg – From Insult to Success & MBE!

Hello fellow tanning addicts!!

Today I want to tell you a story, one that started with a hurtful insult that put a woman on a quest to develop the most perfect tan shades for all including the worlds top actress and actors!

Once upon a time there was a young woman who had just gotten married and had arrived happy & joyous home from her honeymoon in South Africa. She was glowing and enjoying one of the happiest times of her life
Until someone really offended and insulted her that is! They told her her tan was a ‘tea stained shade’ which she hated. Looking back I think this was a pivotal point that drove Alison to create the products she still does today!

I thought she looked fantastic, tall, modelesque, tanned and she always struck me as a woman who had her act together. She was a TV presenter on UTV and even had some fashion features on the UTV channel.

After a while Alyson and her husband separated and she moved up to Belfast where she met and married a businessman – where work on Vita Liberata began which was to be the first no odor, non toxic, organic self tan.

What makes this story extra special for me – she gets our pale Irish skins and has developed tans for Every skintone!
The pHenomenal tanning mousse is the best I have found. No orange glow, just a beautiful natural golden healthy looking tan and that right there is what gets me! How good that mousse is, I can pop it on and get the most natural shade for me! With Alyson it is personal and therefore it has to suit everyone!

Alyson keeps her products organic, paraben free, alcohol free & chemical free. So far I have tried the –
Self tanning anti-age serum drops which you can use at night or just add into your skincare when needed to get a lovely glow come up when needed, very natural and of course buildable. For my face these are a godsend.

Self Tanning Night Moisture Mask which I add some of the anti-age serum drops too to boost my colour overnight. All t he goodness of a night cream with a healthy glow packed in.

The very unique Trystals – Self Tanning Bronzing Minerals that you can use to tan and colour your face and they gently develop into a gradual tan. Lots use them to contour and it leaves that gentle contour on your face when you are bare-skinned, a great way to look better with no makeup on.

The pHenomenal tanning mousse, is the easiest mousse to use, application is so easy, it rinses off to leave an incredible even finish on the skin, it doesn’t stink and it faces evenly so you don’t have a load of patchy skin. Even my brother uses the mousse it on his legs (shhh don’t tell him I told you lol). He too loves the fact you just cannot tell it is fake tan!

Then there is the beautiful Body Blur than can make anyone look so much healthier in seconds, I am addicted to this. In all honesty some days I just do the bits that hit the daylight and that people are seeing (are we not all a bit guilty of this?) it is a priceless product that lasts forever, great mixed in with some primer under makeup too and it doesn’t budge the whole day.

Irish people trying to get a suntan is no easy task! We go red and our skin falls off! Vita Liberata makes it so incredibly easy for us to catch up with the rest of the world in the tan & glow stakes, a beautiful healthy look.

Tanning for me is a trust thing, I have tried so many of the wrong products that now I have used Vita Liberata I would find it very hard to use anything else. It gets me and I get it and trust it!

If you have not tried Vita Liberata I highly recommend that you do for that beautiful, healthy golden glow that she has mastered so well. Alyson has come such a very long way since she was hurt by that insult but somehow I think reflecting back she might be pleased it happened now!

Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel

Hi everyone,

I am a big lover of the elemis face masks, scrubs and this wonderful Papaya Enzyme Peel is multi award winning and it does all the hard work for you!

Natural fruit enzymes of Papaya and Pineapple are fantastic for nibbling off all your old skin. If you have a bit of raised skin or bumps around your pores,  this product is really good at working on those areas and dissolving the skin, making the pores look a lot smaller and flatter .. which can only be a good thing for all of us 🙂

It is a light peachy toned creamy mask for the face and neck, some also use it on the backs of their hands and it is meant to be fantastic on extremely dry heels on your feet tho i have never been that extravagant with it …

It also contains nourishing milk proteins to help condition the skin , antioxidant rich vitamin E and marine algae to moisturise, repair and protect this skin, its paraben and sls free, contains no mineral oils, artificial colours or silicones.

All you have to do is apply a thin layer (it doesn’t need to be thick as that’s just a waste of product) a couple of times a week and it does everything for you, just apply to clean toned skin  and leave for 15 mins and i take mine off with a hot cloth for super soft, peachy skin.

I sometimes like to use my Gentle Rose Exfoliator mixed with a little warm water and applied to the face when taking the face mask off for an even softer, smoother finish to my skin, it just seems to help target any stubborn areas that just need some gentle encouragement to be on their way, it will give you super smooth radiant skin …

This product is perfect for my skin as its so gentle but effective and someone who has more mature skin i have more old skin to get removed, my skin is drier, the skin that sticks and forms fine lines and wrinkles and this is why i love it so!
